Immediately after graduation Fred began working for TeamHass Architects. At TeamHaas Fred worked on four award winning projects and one Austin Energy Green Building project.
In 2003, Fred joined Noack-Little Architects. There he worked with many non-profits such as Goodwill, People Fund, and Travis Association for the Blind in addition to a multitude of commercial, retail, corporate and institutional clients. In 2007, Fred joined Bercy Chen Studio. As the lead architect and construction manager at a leading design build firm, he worked on both sides of the design and construction fence. While at Bercy Chen Studio, Fred’s projects won many international accolades and was featured in numerous international publications. His portfolio has grown to include many projects in all architectural disciplines including commercial, residential, institutional and industrial projects. Through the 16+ years of experience he has come to specialize in large scale renovations, retail, medium scale residential, multifamily, and corporate interiors.
In 2010, Fred created Hubnik Architecture to explore the design he fostered through his work in Austin. Hubnik Architecture is dedicated to an environmentally sensitive modernist approach to Texas architecture. In the tradition of O’Neil Ford and Samuel Mockbee, Fred believes that modernism can be environmentally sensitive as well as contextually sensitive. His work melds the latest energy conservation techniques with traditional Texas forms and modernist traditions.
